Our mission at Turborilla is to bring the world of action sports fans together by creating world-class games and experiences. We are now looking to bring experienced, fun and engaged talents together to help us develop the next phase of Mad Skills BMX 2 in our new office in Skellefteå.
Who we are
Turborilla is one of Sweden’s leading independent game studios, responsible for the Mad Skills franchise of action sports games. These games have been installed 80 million times across the world, with more than 27 billion races having been initiated by our players. According to our rough calculations, that’s something like 6075 years of toilet time.
We strive to be the best at what we do, and to have the best people around to do it.
We are looking for an experienced generalist artist with the ability to work with both 2D and 3D.
Who you are
You understand both the technical requirements for creating art for mobile games and the importance of intuitive UI. You have the ability to determine when something is "good enough" and when there is a need for extra polish. You have prior experience in creating 2D and 3D art for games and can show this in your portfolio.
In this role you will
Create 2D and 3D assets for mobile games such as characters, vehicles, environment assets and props. You'll work closely with our development team to create UI art through all stages, from the mock-up phase to final production. At times you will work with material/shader creation, as well as assist our producer to estimate and plan art production. You will act as a mentor for our more junior artists.
We are a small team, so cross-discipline skills are highly valued.
- Expert level understanding of Maya/3D Studio and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of the game development process
- Fluent in English
- Minimum one shipped game
- A "getting-things-done" mindset
- Strong skills in 2D concept art
- Animation skills
- Experience in working with Unity
- Fan of action sports, racing, or these genres of games
What we offer
At Turborilla we believe that our team is our strongest asset, so we nurture and lift our employees with:
- 40-hour work week, no overtime
- Flex hours
- Competitive salary with benefits
- 25 days of paid vacation
- 1 hour of health care each week
- Health benefits & in-office massages
- Company parties & team building events
- Potential travel
The position is full time and permanent (after 6 month of trial employment). The studio is based in Skellefteå, Sweden, which means relocation would potentially be needed.
Unfortunately visa sponsorship is not an option at this time. For this role you need a Swedish working permit.
If you don't match all the requirements, please express how your passion, attitude and interest in Turborilla might compensate for this.
City of Skellefteå
Skellefteå is located in the north of Sweden, just over an hour by flight from Stockholm. Skellefteå is an up-and-coming city with approx. 33 000 inhabitants. The city offers sports, films, festivals, industries, music and research. The size of the city, the ease of living, and the nearby nature--spectacular northern lights displays are not uncommon--make it ideal for families.
